How My Experience Living with BPD Guides My Expertise

What if the person studying, treating, and advocating for borderline personality disorder is also living with BPD themselves?

Join us for a candid conversation with Sage Nestler, MSW, who will share how their personal experience living with BPD has shaped their professional development and deepened their understanding.

Sage will share their journey of experiencing BPD symptoms as a teenager, the life-changing impact early diagnosis and treatment had, the role genetics played, and how encountering stigma throughout their mental health education and early career ultimately inspired them to specialize in the disorder.

They’ll also offer a more nuanced understanding of behaviors that can sometimes be labeled as “manipulative.” Through personal examples, Sage will discuss what may be happening beneath these behaviors, bringing context and understanding to the realities of BPD.

This honest conversation offers an opportunity to look beyond stereotypes and stigma—and to better understand BPD through the lenses of both lived experience and professional expertise.

This 60-minutes webinar will be recorded and added to our Resource Library.
